Q Link Wireless is very proud to announce the results of the first 'Connecting America' $1000 scholarship.

We are thrilled to award this years scholarship to a very deserving student:

Antara Mason

antara mason

We posed the following question to high school seniors and college undergraduates:

Why are government benefit programs important resources for helping people with financial difficulties? What can we do to improve the effectiveness of these programs?

Out of over 200 essays we received, Antara's essay stood out the most. Antara made very compelling arguments about the importance of the Lifeline program and provided insightful ideas for how to improve assistance programs. Not only did she make some great points, she supported them with personal annecdotes and showed her humor and personality.

Antara will be attending Boise State University this fall semester, where she plans to pursue a teaching degree with minors in vocal performance and Spanish. She hopes to one day return to a small, rural middle school to teach Social Studies and Government.

Congratulations, Anatara, and good luck at BSU!

Everyone did such a terrific job on their essays that we decided to create runner-up prizes for 4 other students who we felt worked very hard to submit creative and well thought out essays. These four students will receive a $50 Amazon gift card to use towards the cost of textbooks for the next semester.

Congratulations to :

Valerie Lynn McCall
Jason Davis
Hayley Harding
Sianna Peal

Congratulations to the winners and good luck to everyone next semester!
