All About Lifeline
The Federal Lifeline Assistance government program was formed in 1985 to ensure low-income Americans have access to the many benefits that come with communications services. Providers of Lifeline do this by offering some sort of discount on their phone services, which eligible Americans can sign up for. The main goal of Lifeline is connectivity. The ability to stay connected with loved ones, employers, health and emergency services, and more is one that nobody should be excluded from due to financial hardship. In 2005, the program was expanded to included wireless phone service.
Q Link Wireless Free Monthly Service – Talk, Data, & Text!
Q Link Wireless is a leading provider of Lifeline services because we go far beyond the standard of discounted monthly phone service. We offer all qualified customers a free smartphone and free monthly phone service. After all, what good is phone service if you don’t have a phone to enjoy it on?
1,000 Nationwide Minutes
Enjoy 1,000 nationwide minutes you can use to call loved ones, set up appointments, reach employers and job opportunities, contact emergency and health services, and much more. Q Link is proud to offer more monthly minutes than any other Lifeline provider in the country! It’s all part of our mission to keep your connected to your world.
3GB Monthly Data
Additionally, each month you have 3GB of free data to surf the web, use social media, check emails, and more. You can even use Wi-Fi to download music and videos to your Q Link phone, so you don’t have to use up your data streaming. This will allow your free data to last much longer!
Unlimited Worldwide Text Messaging
The Q Link Wireless “Always On” guarantee means that you have unlimited text messages all month long, even when your free minutes or data run out. This includes picture and video messaging, and international messaging. Send multimedia texts to any country in the world, all month long – on us! With “Always On”, you are always able to stay connected.
Keeping Your Free Service On
As a Q Link customer, there are just a few things you need to remember in order to continue receiving phone service.
Monthly Plan Refills
Q Link Wireless will refill your free minutes and free data on the first day of each month. To ensure your phone successfully receives this refill, keep your phone turned ON and charged during the first 10 days of the month. Please note that while your free minutes and data will be ready to use on the first day of the month, it may take up to 24 hours for your Balance to reflect this.
Use Your Phone to Keep It On
Federal guidelines require Lifeline providers to cancel service to phone that has been inactive for 30 days. We would hate for you to lose your free service. All you need to do is be sure to use your phone at least once per month. Ways to keep your Q Link service active:
- Place or receive a phone call
- Send a text message
- Use your free data (not connected to Wi-Fi)
To keep your free service on, all you have to do it use it!
Recertify Your Lifeline Eligibility
All Q Link members must complete an annual recertification to demonstrate that they are still eligible for Lifeline. Failure to complete this recertification will result in cancellation of your account. But don’t worry, we’ll send you plenty of reminders via email and SMS well before the time comes. Recertifying your account simply requires the click of a button.
